Thank you for visiting my web site. I live in Germany near Hamburg with my wife and my two children. For my day job, I am a computer scientist and studied information science. I operate astrophotography for more than 20 years. Some years I had photographed still with chemical 35 mm format film material and changed then to CCD photography with SBIG ST-7/9/10/STL, FLI ML8300, Atik314L+ which offers new possibilities. Most of the pictures were taken at my backyard observatory.
My first telescope was a 8" Schmidt Cassegrain, with which I observing deep sky objects and planets. My next purchase was 1996 a ST-7 CCD camera. This equipment gave me my a steady start in astroimaging.
My first light image of M 51 (1996, ST-7, Meade LX-200) gave me a great feeling and euphoria. This experience encouraged me to go forward with color CCD imaging. Sometimes I write astrophotographic articles in astromagazines. One of those magazines called Sterne und Weltraum and its comparable with Sky & Telescope. Sterne und Weltraum captures the essence of astronomy, written by renowned astronomers and science writers, it’s an essential resource for stargazers of all levels. Mostly I write about astro imaging, image processing or CCD control software. You will find publications of the last years (only in German language)
or Click here for: References of me ****************************************************************************************************************************** Sometimes, I give lectures of astro-photographic themes like BoHeTA ****************************************************************************************************************************** Astrophotography is a process of continual experimentation, but has rewarded me with satisfying results, to discuss and meet people who enjoy the same challenge.
